Good news from Helrunar! The black metal duo announced that they will record a new album to follow Sól. After releasing the split Fragments - A Mythological Excavation last year, Skald D. and Alsvartr will enter Klangschmiede Studio E in May to record a new full-time-album in cooperation with Markus Stock as producer. The title will be Niederkunfft and the release is scheduled for October or November 2014.
The band describes the sound of the new album: "Regarding it musically, Niederkunfft will clearly follow the direction we foreshadowed on our song 'Wein für Polyphem' that was released on our split with Árstíðir Lífsins last summer. Lyrically, we shall this time dive deep into the images of fear and terror that affected Europe in early modern times (1349-1654): The triumph of death, the thirty-years-war, pestilence, witches, daemons... all in all, the fear of the end of the world. The lyrics will, for the most part, be presented in old German language."
Until then, enjoy "Wein Für Polyphem" from last year's split with Árstíðir Lífsins:
