Damn it! Portugal does exist too, you know? Would love to see this tour, especially Protest and The Contortionist.

Funny that a populated city like Lisbon doesn't make sense for a show but apparently my little hometown does.

Spain and Portugal are ignored for live gigs, a lot of time, due to the immense expenses concerned going over there. Even when one is from Europe or already touring within Europe.

It also helps when a band like this got to be as big as they are by starting out in the smaller Canadian cities like my hometown. They always make a point of returning to give back to some of the people that helped get their name out there and make them what they are today.

But you must be right about the Portugal/Spain thing. Whenever I see these Eurotours announced those countries are conveniently left off the list.

Since when are those two countries more neckbearded than the rest of the world?

Only when Alestorm tours there.

You're from Toronto, right? That explains it. Canada is on the map, we aren't And like Marcel explained, bands don't want to make the effort. We have very passionate fans and the bands that do come here always come back. So, I blame promoters too.

A much smaller town about 200 or so kilometers away, actually. Protest the Hero would rather perform in front of a sardine-can venue of 100 people rather than go to Portugal I guess.

I think besides promoters and the costs, I also blame the current economic situation. In Portugal, people cannot afford as much concerts as they could in the past. Some cannot afford them at all. I've seen many in that situation.
