Legendary? That's a laugh

Well, let's see:

- He's played in one of the most influential rock bands in music, including on the most acclaimed rock album of all time (That's Appetite For Destruction, in case you didn't get that. )
- He started the lesser known band Velvet Revolver, which, although not as acclaimed or successful as GNR, released a couple of albums that won a lot of awards.
- He currently has a solo career, where one album topped charts in five countries, another in three countries, and it seems like this one is gonna be quite popular as well.

Accolade wise, (according to Wikipedia):
- "Time named him runner-up on their list of "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009, while Rolling Stone placed him at No. 65 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" in 2011. Guitar World ranked his solo in "November Rain" No. 6 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos" in 2008, and Total Guitar placed his riff in "Sweet Child o' Mine" at No. 1 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Riffs" in 2004. In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with other members of Guns N' Roses."
- "In 2007, Slash was honored with a star on the Rock Walk of Fame; his name was placed alongside Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix. He was the honoree at the 2010 Sunset Strip Music Festival, where he was presented by West Hollywood mayor John Heilman with a plaque declaring August 26 as "Slash Day." In 2012, Slash was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the classic lineup of Guns N' Roses. He performed three songs?"Paradise City", "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Mr. Brownstone"?with fellow inductees Duff McKagan, Steven Adler, and Matt Sorum, one-time Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, and his frequent collaborator Myles Kennedy. Inductees Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin and Dizzy Reed declined to attend. Later that year, Slash received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located directly in front of the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard."

So, yeah, bring out your Master Balls cause I'd say this guy is quite legendary.

Actually really feeling this album. It's got just a classic RnR style, no flair and the singer reminds me of the guy from Buckcherry which aint a bad thing at all.

Opethian made a laughing stock out of himself. You really just can't deny the fact that Slash is one of the most influential guitarist of all time. His contribution is immense.

I never heard his solo works before. I'm really surprised how solid it sounds.

Basically what you're saying is since he is famous, gets a lot of publicity and his songs get aired on radio stations, that automatically makes him a generic musician, who left no legacy in music whatsoever.

Just like David Bowie.
And many others.

Right. No one's buying that shcyte anymore.

Anyhow, I have yet to listen to the new album, but if it's as 75% as good as the last one, I'll be pleased.

The singer is the main reason I'm even interested in this album in the first place.
I really feel like Miles Kennedy has the talent to become the voice of modern mainstream rock.

We don't have to hold a torch for him, his work in GnR - which is anything but sub standard - speaks for itself. But that's okay, you can keep USEing Your Illusion ! oh yea I went there

I'll have to look into this guy... what has he done outside this album?

Lead singer of Alter Bridge, who are probably one of the biggest names in the modern hard rock scene. Would definitely recommend checking out their albums, Blackbird and Fortress in particular.
