Not a fan of the screaming sample or whatever that is in the background. Besides that I think it's pretty good. I like Cory's vocals on this one. It reminds me of old Slipknot. So far the new album seems pretty solid and may turn out to be better then their last album. Maybe even their last two albums.

I'm not a Joey Jordison fanboy or anything but the drum parts are very bad in every song they have released so far.It worrys me a lot , I hope the album is good

Liking the anger on this one. Some of the melodies are off for me but I don't think the drums sound bad at all. I don't get why the drums would offend.

I haven't heard the whole album, not sure if it's leaked but from the last 3 songs i've heard, I agree with you, this material sounds better than All Hope Is Gone.

I just looked at your recent selection and saw Elvenking at the top of the list. That gives your opinion context and explains why you would state such about Slipknot. I hate a few bands too especially Elvenking since they are about as badass as wet toast. Agaloch too. I fucking hate the fact that everyone goes nuts for Agaloch here on Metal Storm and that band absolutely sucks imho.

This is definitely in a league of its own in terms of how bad it is. But it doesn't matter because your average Slipknot fan will eat up any kind of turd, no matter how foul it smells or tastes. That begs the question, why don't they just release an album every year?

I'm not sure where the Elvenking remark comes from... I like some of their stuff, but I'm not a huge fan. I do really enjoy their newest album. I honestly give zero fucks how "badass" or brutal a band is. If you judge bands by that, then you are being a tool.
Regardless, I listen to a large variety of bands, so I'm not sure why you think liking a band in one genre means I would automatically dislike a band from another genre. You remind me of the robots in the metal world who judge everything by its genre title and are incapable of thinking for themselves. I'm sorry for you.

The whole album's out there if you look for it. It's not another IOWA but definitely has some catchy riffs and good melodies.

Dude the Elvenking remark i can understand, but Agalloch? you are entitled to your opinion, but you are absolutely wrong on that one! and yes Slipknot sucks, i can't stand them!
Yes, Agalloch. I even went to see Agalloch live to try and understand what the big deal was... the room was packed full of dour faced hipsters trying so hard to be cool, no movement at all, and some of the worst vox I've ever heard live. Slipknot certainly has some duds but they also created some great tunes as well... but the image might put off those who enjoy sipping their organic tea to their melodic metal.

I think the mix is iffy, but the song itself is cool. I like the chorus. They finally rediscovered their balls, pulled them out of their purses, and wrote some songs that eschew radio again. This bodes well for the album.

I appreciate the intent of this song (pissed off and offkilter).
However the end result is lacking:
1. Sound is terrible. Vocals and drums are too high in mix and the guitars sound flat and uninspired.
2. It's too disjointed in a bad way. There's no flow.
3. The samples are irritating

Funny cause I usually get crucified for these "analyses" as I am apparently not qualified to make them.
Of course. But even the subjective point about the samples is easily understood by most even if they thought they were cool. And if you have a sense of humor that helps understanding other people trashing your favorite bands. I get too defensive in some cases for sure and am working on controlling my reptile brain.
