Exodus - Fan Dies After Cardiac Arrest At Buenos Aires Show

Bay Area thrashers Exodus are currently on their Latin American Tour. Sadly, they send their deepest sympathy to the loved ones of their fan Gustavo Molina, who has died of cardiac arrest shortly after the band's show in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 9th. Gustavo Molina, who was around 25 years old, reportedly played bass for the Argentinian thrash metal band Kronos.

The band posted this message of condolences: "The band was informed of the tragic incident which occurred after the Buenos Aires show by the show promoter. The promoter conveyed to the band that towards the end of the show a young man collapsed, and lost consciousness. He was brought outside and was treated at the ambulance's car, but despite CPR and heart injections, unfortunately, he passed away at the ambulance. Exodus wishes to express their thoughts to the family at this difficult time."

In a statement, frontman Souza said: "We are extremely shocked and saddened by the death of one of our fans, Gustavo Molina. We never want anyone to get hurt at one of our shows let alone die. Our condolences go out to him and all of his family. It has affected every one of us in the band and even our crew. To all of us, it was like losing a family member, because that's how we look at our fans; they are part of our family. [They have] been a part of our family for many years. Everybody in the Exodus camp are truly sorry for this tragic and horrendous event."

All the newspapers here said he died in a "Trash Metal" concert, and of course everybody thought the death had something to do with alcohol/drugs. That's sad because this truly looks like one of those random heart attacks.

It says in the article the fan was 25 years old. Not exactly old. Dying at age 25 sucks massive bollocks.

Ah! Busted for scanning and not reading. He had to have had a crazy health issue of some kind.

Or just an innate heart defect. These take down football (soccer) players from time to time because of going undiagnosed.

It does look like it. Ignorance is terrible though. Just because it's metal, it had to be drugs? Because we are junkies or something.

Especially annoying considering the rampant drug abuse in EDM concerts. That's a genre that's almost entirely based on taking e.

I don't want to assume anything, as I have no idea what happened exactly.
But keep in mind that even if he died of cardiac arrest, it doesn't mean that there was no drug involved.
The cardiac failure could have been caused by a drug of some kind. Or not at all. Perhaps it is simply a health issue and he could have died anywhere, anytime.
This information is far too incomplete to understand what really happened.

Sad though, to die so young. It's only a bit more than half my age.
