Omit - Unveil New Album Release Date, Tracklist


Recently, Omit revealed the title as well as the cover artwork for their upcoming sophomore album, Medusa Truth Part 1. Now the band has taken a step further and disclosed the release date for the new album, set to be released worldwide on November 26th. In addition to that, the doom metal band posted a picture with the tracklist of the new album which is available below. The opus will feature three songs and one of them is a 26-minute track!

The last album had a 26 minute song, too. Is this one only 1 disc? The debut was 2 discs.

Yeah, just one disc. Although you have to consider the fact that this album will have a second part as well, released individualy most probably. (thus, the part 1 in the title) Even so, the length clocks to almost 50 minutes for this new record with only 3 mere tracks, so it's not like it is too short.

Like the band said... doomsters seem to care about length.

That's still 30 minutes less than the debut. And Time 1 was supposed to have a follow up, but that was what, 5 years ago?

I don't think you should lump Omit with Wintersun. Instead of crying about the length of an album, be grateful that at least the band releases some new material now and then. More length does not necessarily mean more quality. Instead of an overlong release, I prefer a shorter one but a more convincing one. Even for a doom metal band, things drag a lot, especially if the album goes over an hour in length, and that's what happened with Repose.
