What are they supposed to do anyway? It's Russia's internal affairs, and whether we like it or not Russia is passing through a phase of extreme nationalism and revival of christian orthodox values especially ever since Putin remade them a great power.

There are other countries in this world that banned CC (or at least partially) and are not as authoritarian as Russia. Although this is on the lighter side, few people actually know that they are cooking an armed insurection as we speak in Rep. of Moldova and the cease-fire in Ukraine is respected only at a political level.

How is it not news? One of the biggest death metal bands is being banned in a very large country, this not only doesn't bode well for the band's future there but also opens up worthwhile avenues of discussion like politics in music and censorship of artists, etc.

Russia does not necessarily force neighboring countries to not be a democracy, they only want those countries to be in their sphere of influence. Whether it is an autocratic country like Belarus or a relatively democratic one like Armenia. Russia, same like the US and the EU wants to maintain their influences outside their borders, especially on the former soviet republics. Same like the US has been trying for 2 centuries to maintain their influence on all American countries. EU is also in the same position, but not EU as a whole, but Germany especially, as it tries to maintain the market it already created for itself.

Russia today is much more democratic than how it was 25 years ago. You cannot compare Putin with Stalin, Lenin, Khruschev, Brejnev or other soviet rulers. We have to take into the account though that they still suffer from corruption, there are still many rich people that gained their wealth by robbing the state until Putin came to power, the church, even though it is not as influential as it was during the monarchy period, still maintains a great amount of power and most of the russians are in a phase of nostalgia. They may not yearn for what USSR meant, but for what it was... a great power in competition with the US. Russia is basicaly in the same phase Germany was after World War 1. Sometime ago I saw a videotaped speech made by Putin where he implied that all of the Malta agreements are nul to him, that those who negotiated them were traitos (Eltan, Gorbachev) and that he considers that Stalin has made the agreements at Teheran, Yalta and Potsdam for eternity. This is what people should be scared of. Not because they ban a band from their country. Other countries did this and are considered democracies. If they did not ban them completely, they restricted their products. But we can't blame them because everybody does what it wants in their internal policy as long as the people are content with the measures taken.

Russia is dangerous now, but few people have yet to perceive it as such. They do not because Ukraine was a lost cause ever since it was founded. It is an artificial country, same like Yugoslavia was. It is built on lands taken from poles, romanians, hungarians and russians. The territory inhabited historicaly by ukrainians is smaller in size. And the bad thing is that Russia may be able to survive without the west, but I doubt that the west can survive without Russia. Russia has what the west needs desperately, resources! They have plenty that are exploited, many more not yet exploited and who knows how much hasn't been found as Siberia is immense!

Whether we like it or not, sooner or later a decision has to be made, as things cannot go on in this direction... for the benefit of the west of course. US and NATO probably wants to trade Crimea and Eastern Ukraine for Syria, but Putin does not wish to as Syria is much more important that Eastern Ukraine and it does not need the acceptance of the west so that they can control Crimea. If there will be war, it will be something akin to what happened in Ukraine, a proxy war. Now they target Moldova, and today they have elections. The Moldavian authorities have already deconspired some insurection plans prepared with Russia's help.

even large part of Rus is in Asia, culture belongs to Europe, even some in Rus don't like it, they belongs, even deep in Siberia .
Rus has like be loyal to leadership and support it in the public, and basically do what ever you want, even there are attempts to stop free internet, till now MS; MA is freely available

The purpose of news isn't to cater exactly to what YOU want to hear, it's to inform people of something. Using the argument why weren't there news about the other bands is irrelevant, if something is newsworthy other similar cases being ignored doesn't make it any less newsworthy.

Yes, I am well aware of the issues Cannibal Corpse has had within their own country and elsewhere. By your logic, by the time a serial killer gets to his 10th victim or so, it's not newsworthy if he kills someone anymore because you would expect that behaviour from him by that point.
