Lord Mantis - Present New Video
Chicago-based blackened sludge metallers Lord Mantis present a brand new video "Possession Prayer", now available for viewing through the YouTube player below. The track for this unsettling and not for the faint-hearted video clip is taken from the band's latest studio album, Death Mask, released back in April 2014 via Profound Lore Records.
The video was directed by Gretchen Heinel and edited by Abby Noble.

Video directed by Mehrige himself, since MM asked him to make him one after he fell in love with Begotten: And when it comes to BDSM, just think harder and you'll have images of chicks in chains/ropes/cages in almost every video ever. Not including myself in this, but the myriad of homemade bm videos inspired or using direct clips from Begotten speak just as loud as MM using the actual director for his video.

It's a bleak, disturbing, surrealistic film, probably at or near the peak in that regard and that complements many such themes found among metal bands very well. It's understandable then that it's such a go to for vids, even if it is overused. Some things are cliché for a reason.
