High On Fire - To Enter Recording Studio

High On Fire are about to enter the recording studio to track their new album. The sludge/stoner masters will finally release the follow-up to De Vermis Mysteriis in 2015 via eOne Music. They have also announced winter 2015 tour dates. All you can do now is wait and hope that High On Fire deliver the goods once again.

Immediately following the east coast run, the band will enter Salem, Massachusetts' GodCity Studios with producer Kurt Ballou to record the new, as-yet-untitled studio album. Earlier this year, the group convened for strategic writing sessions in both New Orleans, LA and Oakland, CA, with early reports indicating the band's new material to be both "epic" and "sonically huge".

Tour dates:

January 6 - Birmingham, AL - Zydeco
January 7 - West Columbia, SC - New Brookland Tavern
January 8 - Richmond, VA - The Broadberry
January 9 - Brooklyn, NY - Saint Vitus Bar
January 10 - Hartford, CT - Webster Underground
January 11 - Portland, ME - Port City Music Hall
January 13 - Poughkeepsie, NY - The Loft at The Chance Theatre
January 14 - Providence, RI - Simon's 677

A bit wary given De Vermis Mysteriis was at best average and with a very poor second half.

I agree that the last 3 tracks were not good on that record giving it a very weak ending but there were a few scattered gems. The music video for Fertile Green was awesome as well.
