Anthrax are back in the studio! Along with producer Jay Ruston, the thrash metal band is currently in a Los Angeles studio recording the follow-up to the band's 2011 Grammy-nominated album Worship Music. The group has been writing and demoing new songs over the past few months and plans to record well into January. Their as-yet-untitled eleventh full-length effort is set for a 2015 release via Megaforce. Let the anticipation begin...
Check out some video footage from the first day of recording here.
Jeez, some doughnouts are expecting "Spreading The Disease"-kinda record every time Anthrax will release new album in future. They should really come out of 80's scene and live today's thrash metal scenario. Yes, new thrash releases doesn't have spark of 80's but seriously, don't just go scummy and start comparing records which was decade back released.
Nothing to do with Marcel and Daniel here. But, it has become so fucking nark when it comes to "classic band releases new album" subject throws in.
Oh, "We've Come For You All" much worse than Stomp 422 where former took 5 years to come out with a bang but failed it miserably. Here, "Worship Music" had such a strong vibes, great riffs and pounding of drums to sharpen songs and made a remarkable album(8 years came out to be fruitful).
Anyway, this is very interesting news. Look forward to this.

People whinging about people's opinions is far more annoying than people whinging about bands, imo.

Maybe in your imo.
In my perspective, it is imperative to put a foot down over that annoying subject which shoudn't have longer effect. Because, that is fucking unnecessary to stretch out the rubber band.
Hey, that is what people here are good in it. Don't leave to trim out the rugged topics where ton of users have already discussed in lengths.
The time when people stop complaining about shit music is the moment when music is fucked. Older bands that once made good albums deserve no special dispensation. If people want to complain about bands that continuously ruin their legacy with every poor release then that's their right, just as it's the right of the bands to release those shit albums.
And the funny thing is if they released another Among The Living or Metallica released another Master of Puppets, people would whinge about how the band is living off old glories and is out of new ideas.
No, I don't need another Ride he Lightning or Spreading The Disease because I know those albums can't be topped, or even equalled. All I want is good music. Metallica managed that with Master Of Puppets and parts of And Justice For All and a couple of songs on Metallica and Load. Anthrax managed it with Among The Living and Sound Of White Noise and couple of songs on State Of Euphoria and Persistence Of Time. Problem is that everything after that was just pure unadultered averageness at best by bands who clearly were out of ideas and fire.

I often get the implicit impression from some people that their argument is that people should lower their expectations to allow for enjoyment of certain band's releases, especially older ones in certain genres that release average music. I've never understood that myself. When a band starts failing, look elsewhere for worthy music. Don't adjust your own tastes. That makes no sense to me.

Yep, remarks like that have been thrown around the forum about "setting yourself for disappointment" when you still expect good quality music from bands that were once purveyors of such. It's as if you told a woman to get used to her husband beating her because that's what he's going to do from now on, treat her like shit and still expect her to love him.

...well that was depressing, thanks
But yeah, it's true. I don't think I love any band enough to "force" myself to appreciate albums which I know are under par. Life is far too fun and interesting to not settle on things.
Taking "compromising" factor with "disappointments" or "lowering your expectations for enjoyment of certain releases" really has nothing to do with LISTENING TO GOOD MUSIC. As Marcel said, at the end of day we all want GOOD MUSIC. Now, people here are mature enough to classify average from fantastic material(at least I am).
If my clans lower their standards/expectations for enjoyment of certain releases here(or outside this community), then its outrightly shame. Utter shame.
My point here is about sticking to mindset of "this xxx band cannot toppled his xxx record released in '80s, 90's so we're expecting another bunch of horse shit this time too". C'mon folks, can you just wait and see what band has to offer us?! If dropped awfully, then bash the fuck out of it as much as you can. But, let them introduce new album on our plates. For e.g. Overkill - their comeback albums are always been cheered, gratified and has fire in it. If record is BRILLIANT, then appreciation bound to get MULTIPLIED.
Edit - On Anthrax, I don't think you can't lower your expectations to listen to Worship Music. If worse come out of the worst, it could land on decent platform. Not much lower than average material.
As has already been said it's not about expecting bands to topple their 80s classics. Just to make good music. When a band releases turd after turd then people often don't want to "wait around and see what band has to offer us?" As I said, bands like this deserve no more time and special attention than any other bands that fail to justify their continued existence. Some bands just get a reputation, and rightly so.
