Arcturus - Join Prophecy Productions, New Album Detailed

Hold on to your hat because Arcturus just announced their new album! Yes, ten years after the release of Sideshow Symphonies, they are releasing Arcturian on May 8th. Prophecy Productions feel honoured and are excited to welcome Arcturus to its artist roster as well. This also means that the new album details are out in the open. Feast your eyes on it below. It is finally happening folks!

Guitar player Knut Magne Valle says on the album: "'Arcturian contains elements from entire Arcturus' history and as a result it is both harder and softer than ever before. We went back to real drums, real strings and 'first take' improvised guitar solos to give it an authenticity and life that not many records tend to have these days. We worked hard to mix the old Arcturus sound into the newer material and the result was: We obtained a more homogeneous, mystic Arcturus sound picture."

Tracklist:
01. The Arcturian Sign
02. Crashland
03. Angst
04. Warp
05. Game Over
06. Demon
07. Pale
08. The Journey
09. Archer
10. Bane

The band's fifth full-length studio album is available for pre-order for all physical products (ltd. 2CD hardcover book, ltd. gatefold LP, ltd. box sets, digipak CD) at this location.

Arcturus plan to make a short tour of European venues between 2nd - 10th May 2015. All dates will be announced next week. Further European club shows and festivals will be announced later in the year and the band will also perform at Maryland Deathfest in the US with extra South American dates to be announced shortly. Stay tuned.

Can't freakin' wait! Knut's comment reads wonderfully. Very high hopes for this.

Quite like the artwork too.

Also can't wait, but I think it might be kind of like Opeth's Heritage .

Do you mean that in the sense that it will be a departure from their previous sound or... ? I have to say that cover is lovely.

You gave 10 to Sideshow Symphonies so you must really like this 'cover band'

How are they a cover band ? Garm wasn't even among the founding members...

Great thing that they are on Prophecy now, its a perfect fit for them; also I have bought most of the special editions they sell and everything is of very high quality.
Now lets wait to hear some new music.

Optimistic! I prefer Garm to Vortex, but this will probably still be really good.

Sideshow was a flop compared to the albums before that so hopefully this won't be a successor to that album...

Yes, I think it will quite different, but it's just a feeling. I am just not expecting another La Masquerade Infernale or Sham Mirrors.

I am looking forward to this release though.

It's good an album, but imagine how good it would be with Garm on vocals
