Dimmu Borgir - In Pre-Production For New Album

It has been a while since Norwegian symphonic black metallers Dimmu Borgir have given any new updates. The band announced in 2013 that they were working on a new album. Things seem to be moving along as they are in pre-production for their tenth album. Shagrath has posted a picture on the band's Facebook page where he says he is working on some new Dimmu Borgir riffs. Will the band release the new album this year? That is still under wraps for now but we will keep you posted.

In a 2014 interview, guitarist Silenoz stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's follow-up to 2010's Abrahadabra that they usually take two-three years in between each release of the albums. Dimmu Borgir always take their time and if they rush things, then it's not gonna be something they can stand behind anyway.

Indeed, while I couldn't stand it at first either, I know think it fits Gateways. Back to the news itself, I'm not expecting much after so many years. Abrahadabra is great but I love Death Cult Armageddon a lot more ! We'll see but to me this band is more dead than alive...

I actually liked that part. It gave it a very theater quality. That said, I'd still rather have Vortex.

Hopefully there will be some actual riffs on this new album. That previous album was almost riffless.

Hope for some more Symphonic sound instead of Black (Extreme)

I really liked Abrahadabra and thought it was a step in the right direction. So I'm eager to hear some new stuff.

LOL,Hot Topic mallgoth kids are still obsessed with Dummy Boygirl (AKA Bullet for My Valentine in mallgoth makeup trying way too hard to play Symphonic Extreme Metal ) and they're still calling them Black Metal and Symphonic Black Metal, even though they've always been the farthest thing from those genres and real Metal in general....I guess 2006 is never over for some people.
