Symphony X - New Album Completed

After the recordings began for Symphony X's next musical offering last year, the good news now is that the album is completed! Hopefully, soon we will be able to get our hands on the new progressive metal creation from the group now that the mixing and mastering are done. The process was handled by Jens Bogren, who worked with the band on their last two albums, Paradise Lost and Iconoclast.

As for the artwork, it will be handled by Warren Flanagan, who has also worked on their last two albums as well. They will be finalizing things over the next couple of weeks. In the last few years, Symphony X have taken their time with new albums. The band will be co-headlining a North American tour with Overkill in September/October.

So, maybe the album will come out around that time. Stay tuned for more updates.

Eager to listen to new stuff from these guys.

Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Very, very good news indeed... I've been listening to their music for nearly 20 years and have always looked forward to a new release by these guys.

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..

Yes, I don't think so eheh My intuition is that they will continue with the sound of the last two albums since they are using the same team. But I could be wrong. They always have the potential to mix it up.

Awesome news!! I'm pretty sure it will be a great album, like their last two................ so definately we will need a live DVD sometime after this release. These guys are tremendous musicians, so a live DVD would be a good way to make them justice.
