Kamelot - Premiere New Video For 'Insomnia'

Symphonic metal masters Kamelot are ready to share another piece of music from their upcoming new album Haven. And so they have released a video for the track "Insomnia" and as of now you can watch it here. They promise an epic and cinematic experience. Enjoy!

Mastermind Thomas Youngblood states: "Kamelot returns with a sci-fi inspired thriller for the song 'Insomnia'. In a post apocalyptic world, surveillance is everywhere and over population is rampant. Deep in the underground of the Wasteland Monarchy lies the Insomnia Division, the housing for some of the chosen ones, only allowed to live in an Insomniatic state!"

Haven will make Kamelot history as it will be released worldwide (excluding Asia) on Napalm Records/Universal and Napalm Records/ADA/Warner as an exclusive licensing deal through the band's Kamelot Music LLC on May 4th, 2015 (North America) and May 8th (Europe and rest of the world).

You can still listen to "Veil Of Elysium" in case you missed it before.

This has to be one of the best releases in the metal industry since Roy's depart!
I can't anticipate for Haven anymore!

It has more identity than the previous one, a better track overrall, but nothing much in the end.

I am a HUGE Kamelot fan, but this is Pop Power Metal. Godawful.

At first I thought "Veil of Elysium" was boring/generic, but it's really grown on me and now it's one of my favorite Kamelot songs.

This one, though... it's not bad, but I just can't seem to really get into the chorus.

Like the key and guitar solo. Still trying to make him sound like Roy though aren't they.

Tommy has said in interviews that he purposely tries to mimic Roy, as to not deviate too far from the sound Kamelot fans have come to know and love.
Personally, I think it's pretty cool and selfless of him to do that - it shows that he puts the fans above his own desires.

Perhaps a bit better than Veil of Elysium in that it doesn't sound so much like retreaded ground, but it is pretty safe and unadventurous. I was hoping they'd make a step up from Silverthorn to this one but having reassessed my judgement of that album and based on the two songs released so far, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be weaker :/

Yeah, as I said, I'm glad he tries to mimic Roy. A new singer shouldn't mean an entire new sound for the band - Tommy gets it.

I don't understand all the negativity. It sounded great and they used techno sounds creatively. Damn, even the video was pretty cool imho. At least much better than most metal ones of recent years. And I appreciate Tommy trying to keep the vocals as similar as possible. The non-metal vocals is what makes Kamelot special, after all.
