Well that was unexpected... in a good way \m/ It's got an "Iconoclast" sound to it, definitely looking forward for this album

Kinda good to me, but it seems a little stripped-down. Great solos though, as usual.

Powerful, technical, with amazing solos, choruses and vocals. SX trademark.

I like it.

I am siding with those for whom this is too simple. This song just begs the question: are Symphony X simply out of ideas? This comes after one listen of just one song, but Michael Romeo's comment about making "really fine-tuned" songs kind of made me suspicious.

I am still hoping for the best and can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

What the hell happened to Russell Allen's voice? ...it's like he has put all the voice he got left into Adrenaline Mob.

I hope this is just another song and we get the true Russell Allen for the rest of the album. Anyway, guitars sound awesome as always.

Great song. Unfortunately, another extremely ugly cover art (and I thought that this era was over).

They've obviously chosen this song as the single to cater to the power metal fans, not prog-heads. There are a lot more power metal fans than prog metal fans.

Going to buy this one regardless.

An OK song...I dig the chorus, but overall it's just so-so. I remain cautiously optimistic about the album. Iconoclast had some gems, but wasn't as consistently good as the previous three albums.

Nice tune, something between Paradise Lost and The Odyssey, which is a great thing, yet i find Allen´s voice in this one a bit weak, and im not sure if should get worried about that, hope this was just a slip from Sir Russell anyway.... im looking forward to listen the whole album and im pretty sure it will be fuckin awesome:banger2:

This song pisses me off because it reminds me of their 2011 tour when Nevermore was supposed to join them. Other than that I love it.

Indeed, there's no power in his voice on this track...really disappointing. Probably my favourite part of SX

Forgettable chorus, vocals not on par with older Allen, bland opening track. Symphony X really needs to go back to their V sound, but I guess that's a matter of IF they even have it in them anymore.

It's not the point. I am just saying the music is not on par with their previous work. It's not about power metal is for stupid kinds, and prog is thinking man's music.

After Paradise Lost and Iconoclast being quite similar, putting out basically a watered down version of those albums' sound is just something I care about...

I never insinuated that prog fans are superior to so-called "simple" power metal fans by any means, that was never my intention. What I meant was that this song has more of a focus on being catchy rather than being complicated, which is perfectly fine and a rather similar tactic to the one they've used for Iconoclast by choosing "Dehuminized" as the single (though in my view Dehuminized is far superior to this song).

Obviously we both care about this band a great deal, but to be honest, in my opinion they did have worse outings in Iconoclast ("Light up the Night", for example, being my least favorite track by them of all time, admittedly didn't hear the first album though).

As sad as it is to say this specific song really feels like leftovers from Iconoclast, and I do hope they've kept the good stuff for the album itself.
Who am I kidding, of course they did.

I love Symphony X lyrics seem a little worn to me. The song structure is very similar to those found on Iconoclast which is good IMO. I love that album. The chorus is weak though. Solo's are always tremendous Michael Romeo is one of the all time greats. IMO he's at the top of the heap.

Good song......................... but............ kinda weak chorus and Russell's voice sounds like an average good singer; it lacks his trademark powerful and grandiose voice.
The music is very good... as I expected.
Hope the rest of the album does contain Russell's power!
Loved the last two albums... keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

I liked up to V. From Odyssey onwards they seem to have gone for aggression rather than prog power. This seems no different.

Russell's voice sounds different as well. If someone said it wasn't him singing I would have believed them.

I already know i wont like it without listening to it, as i too am a fan of the V and back days. Odyssey was good, but vocally was weaker.
