Annihilator - Announce New Album, Waters Returns To Lead Vocals

Canadian thrash/heavy metal masters Annihilator recently confirmed that they will release their brand new (and 15th) studio album, Suicide Society, on September 18th, 2015 via UDR Music, worldwide. As usual, guitar wizard Jeff Waters handles all songwriting duties, plays all guitar and bass, engineers, produces, mixes and masters the album and Waters is also back commanding lead vocal duties, as he did on King Of The Kill (1994), Refresh The Demon (1996), Remains (1997) and other Annihilator albums over the years. Enjoy some samples from Suicide Society below.

Waters on his return to vocal duties: "Dave (Padden/vocalist from 03-14) & I have, essentially, been Annihilator since 2003 but he resigned last December, citing having had enough of touring, being away from home and other commitments. I thank him for his 11 years with Annihilator. That said, Annihilator and I are known for never giving up and, occasionally, coming up with something even better than its former offering(s): this is undeniably the case with Suicide Society!"

Tracklist:
  • Suicide Society
  • My Revenge
  • Snap
  • Creepin' Again
  • Narcotic Avenue
  • The One You Serve
  • Break, Enter
  • Death Scent
  • Every Minute

Aside from the band's upcoming, scheduled devastation at some of Europe's mega-summer festivals (ex. Wacken Open Air), Annihilator will be headlining Europe this fall on their Europe In The Blood tour 2015. Talks are underway to bring the band to South America, Japan and likely North America in 2016.

Bloody hell... I felt a bit disappointed when i heard about this yesterday, i'm a big Dave Padden fan and although Jeff Waters is an ok singer i think Dave will be missed, but oh well life goes on...

I've only really liked the Joe Comeau era of this band. I thought Dave Padden was quite awful, his voice really annoyed me. I'm curious to hear how Jeff Waters will sound since its been so long since he was on lead vocal, hoping he will be an improvement. Album artwork is really cool!

    Randy Rampage or GTFO.

Hope you're being sarcastic. If Rampage was showing awful physical conditions due to alcohol abuse in early 2000s already, I can't imagine how he's doing nowadays. Quite difficult to see him aboard again, then.

Stress Factor 9 would disagree with you.

And even still, Rampage at his worse would still be better than most of the other vocalists this band's had. Annihilator have not been lucky in that department.

He won't ever be as horribly terribly bad as Paul DiAnno is nowadays.

If you had seen Rampage's performance in Madrid in the Criteria for a Black Widow tour you might have a different opinion... I've seen very few vocalists worse than that, and zero professionalism. I still think his studio performances were good, but since that show I'm no longer interested in Rampage.

That's setting the bar way too high!
