Leaves' Eyes - Share New Album Title And Artwork

Leaves' Eyes have some good news today! The symphonic metallers have revealed that their new album will be called King Of Kings. The album was recorded in Germany, Norway, England, The Netherlands, Belarus and Switzerland and is produced by Alexander Krull at Mastersound Studio. They have also announced guest appearances like the London Voices Choir (Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Hobbit, Harry Potter) and the concept behind the record. King Of Kings will be out on September 2015. Mark your calendars!

The artwork was done by Stefan Heilemann (Lindemann, Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot).

Singer Liv Kristine explained the new album: "Hafrsfjord, Norway's west-coast. A.D. 873. Did you hear what happened? Harald Hårfagre (c.850-932), remembered by medieval historians as the first king of Norway. The battle of Hafrsfjord is described in the Saga of Harald Hårfagre (Harald Fairhair) in Snorri's Heimskringla. Harald defeated several petty kings and the battle is considered decisive in the unification of Norway. The seabed in Hafrsfjord hides many secrets and many traces. Moreover, Hafrsfjord is my birthplace. With our upcoming album we would like to take you on a journey through a highly interesting chapter in Scandinavia's history.

"Those of you who were present at our latest concerts surely noticed that there's one new song on our setlist, 'Halvdan the Black' - one chapter of the upcoming album King Of Kings! Halvdanr Svarte (c.810-860) was a ninth-century king of Vestfold, Norway. He belonged to the House of Yngling (son of Odin' line) and was the father of Harald Fairhair. 'Halvdan the Black' is just the start of an amazing adventure!"

I for one am dead tired of those covers. This is Leaves Eyes, not her solo shit. This looks solid. Hope it is

I like the concept and a return to the viking theme, but the previous albums (especially the last one) was extremely generic so I have doubts whether there will be improvements.

LOL!

That's quite a list of recording locations... was this Alex and Liv on vacation and suddenly recording a album for fun?

Cover looks awesome, concept sounds awesome, and I look forward to buying and a listening to it.

By way of feeble complaint: Come on, Liv: write the title in real Old Norse!

Meredead was a pretty decent album, Symphonies was a front-loader, petering out into mediocrity as the album went on, which suggested they released it too soon and included a bit too much filler, which was a shame. I for one am relieved they've opted not to put LK on the cover again, because it was becoming a bit of a parody and undermining their artistic integrity. Lets hope she's realised that, approaching 40, there are better ways of promoting the band.

They played the new song last month and on first hearing it sounded pretty decent; let's hope for something akin to Vinland Saga again, this time around. Anyway, we have our tickets for Wolverhampton in the autumn!

First gig was Manowar (loincloths 'n' all), Bristol Colston Hall in March 1983, on the 'Hail to England' tour. Tickets were £3.75, 300 in the audience, Mercyful Fate never showed, but my hearing still got seriously trashed..
