Riverside - Release First Song From Upcoming Album

Riverside have just released the first official video from the upcoming album Love, Fear And The Time Machine. This video is a lyric video of the brand new song "Discard Your Fear", and it can be watched below. It's new Riverside music, what are you waiting for? Expect the unexpected on this 6-minute track.

Vocalist and bassist Mariusz Duda of the Polish progressive masters explains the thought behind the music: "On the new album I wanted to combine the 70's and the 80's. The 80's were a decade of musical growing up for me. I remember being enchanted by music deep with bass, chorus and all kinds of reverb. 'Discard Your Fear' is a good example of this flow. The lyrics are about the most popular kind of fear that touches most of us - the fear of the unknown."

Tracklist:
01. Lost (Why Should I Be Frightened By A Hat?)
02. Under The Pillow
03. #Addicted
04. Caterpillar And The Barbed Wire
05. Saturate Me
06. Afloat
07. Discard Your Fear
08. Towards The Blue Horizon
09. Time Travellers
10. Found (The Unexpected Flaw Of Searching)

Love, Fear And The Time Machine will be released worldwide on September 4th, via Inside Out Music and Mystic Production.

I think they're capable of much more. It started off so darn good, but soon degraded into generic chords and vocal melodies for about 50% of the song. The ending was all right, I guess.

I hope the rest of the album is more lively.

Duda and his bass-playing makes me wet... The song itself seems decent.

I think it's lovely. I like the layers even though it's softer than usual stuff.

I guess there is much more to be convinced in this release:

Mariusz Duda: "Just for your information - we are working on a video for "Found" and we are going to reveal three trailers: "Love", "Fear" and "Time Machine" pretty soon. The first one - next week. Yes, "Discard Your Fear" is just the beginning of something much more bigger".

I don't mind the stylistic direction they're taking, just this song in particular had some pretty bland melodies

Okay song, but kind of drifted by without me really noticing. I don't mind them going softer (although it does get pretty close to Lunatic Soul territory), but I hope some of the other songs are a bit more interesting - Riverside haven't let me down yet though so I'm sure the final album won't disappoint

Sounds like Riverside, alright. Probably one of the softer tracks on the album. Beautiful. Really looking forward to the whole album.

I really enjoyed it. Music doesn't have to be fast, complex, and heavy to be good.

I think it's pretty solid. The beginning was absolutely phenomenal, though I will agree it got a bit tired as the song went on.

Most definitely not, but this is just primitive - hardly anything happens.

In any case, it's just one song. The rest of the album awaits.

I loved the music and melodies, the only thing that bothers me a little is the way Mariusz Duda sings in this song. overall it's a very good song

This is boring, plain and simple, boring. It doesn't even come close to Riverside's best.
