People need to also realize that Bruce was still likely suffering from cancer during the period of recording. It didn't just suddenly appear out of nowhere. These things develop over time. ;-)

You say that as if the vocals aren't better than Mother of Mercy off of the last album. The vocals here are much much better than his attempts on that song, so I doubt the cancer had a huge part to play. Where exactly was the cancer?

I just put the effects down to age and the feeling that he's still trying to reach the notes of old. There is nothing wrong with that, its just a shame he can't pull them off. But it doesn't excuse the vocals in my eyes either. The rhythms were quite strange too.

I look forward to the other songs though - I expect it'll sound better in the longer songs where he has more time to make his vocal delivery, rather than what seems like a rushed effort in this uptempo piece.

He had a tumour on his tongue. But yeah, it does suck that he can't hit the crazy notes he used to, but for his age he still sounds dominant and healthy.

Am I the only one that thinks this sucks a bit? Musically it's okay, but the vocals just doesn't work. Sorry, but they have done stuff A LOT better than this over the years.

Nope. It's mediocre, it's underproduced and it's uninteresting.

Being a gamer love the video tracking game styles over the years. Song not great but not terrible, vocals seem a bit forced on the higher notes.

Plus one to all the comments on the vocals. I think Bruce's voice has been in decline over the last decade, and I really wish they would go back to doubling up and/or harmonizing choruses.

In any case it's not a bad song, and so-so Maiden for me is better than no Maiden at all.
