Insomnium - Cancel Eastern European Tour

Bad news arrive from Insomnium. The Finns are currently touring in North America with Omnium Gatherum but are cancelling their upcoming European tour they had planned with Wolfheart. The band will still be playing a three-gig tour in Belarus and Russia in November (5-7.11) and all the booked one-off shows including Metal Hammer awards gig in Berlin (18.9), Geiselwind Christmas Bash (11.12) and 70000 Tons Of Metal 2016 cruise in next February. And they promise that they will be back in full strength.

Here is their official statement: "Dear fans, first of all, we like to start thanking all of you for your continued support during these dark times. You have welcomed Mike Bear and Nick Cordle with open arms and because of you and headstrong Markus the US tour is still going as strong as ever. For this we are eternally grateful. However due to unfortunate circumstances, we have no choice but to cancel the planned Eastern European tour. We hope we can rebook this tour in the future and come and play our hearts out for you as soon as possible. We are truly sorry for this but the current situation is beyond us."

Niilo Sevänen comments: "I've spent the past weeks in a hospital with my family. We've had some positive news but it's not yet clear how much time we need to spend here during the coming months. It's obvious that I can't do any longer tours at least for the rest of the year. I hope that I can get back to touring as soon as possible and we'll be able to play in all these countries in the future."

The band has already been touring with Mike Bear (Artisan, Prototype) on growling and bass duties on this tour due to a serious illness in Niilo Sevänen's family.

I went to two dates on their current tour and thought Mike and Nick did a fine job for filling in.

Yeah, haha. Even though he was reading lyrics I was still pretty impressed with how well he handled it given how much time he had to prepare.
