In Mourning - Reveal Details About New Album
Swedish metallers In Mourning have revealed new details about their upcoming fourth full-length album. The album will be called Afterglow, and is due to be released on May 20th through Agonia Records. The artwork, which has an epic doom feeling to it, has been designed by Kristian "Necrolord" Wåhlin, who has previously worked with bands such as Bathory, Tiamat, Amorphis and Dark Tranquillity.
About the album, In Mourning comments: "The new album is called Afterglow and its story takes off from where The Weight Of Oceans" ends. It's a bit more complex than our previous albums and it has got a bit of a different sound than the older ones, a bit more alive like a band and maybe not always as studio corrected as our earlier material. However, the foundation of the music is still what we've always done and the key elements are pretty much the same but with some new additions and a few new twists and turns of course."

I want it now!!  Finally, a new album. I'm curious to see what the new drummer will bring to their sound.The Weight Of Oceans was already different, so I hope this one is as good at least.

Written by LeKiwi on 02.03.2016 at 19:13 Yeah, well... they do mix a lot of genres but mostly prog and death. I'd say Monolith is probably the only one with more doomy influences. But I do love all of their albums so far, for different reasons.
