Max And Igor Cavalera - To Play 'Roots' At Amnesia Rockfest
Just last month, guitarist/vocalist Max Cavalera said in an interview that he and his brother, drummer Igor Cavalera, were celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sepultura's classic album, Roots, by performing the album in its entirety. Well, the first confirmed date has now been revealed. They will play at the 11th edition of Amnesia Rockfest in Canada as Max & Igor Cavalera Back To 'Roots'. Curiously enough, Sepultura are also confirmed for the fest. Will they join the celebration?
Other confirmed acts are Korn, Cradle Of Filth, Bring Me The Horizon, Lamb Of God, Twisted Sister, Underøath, Anthrax, Sodom (first show in Canada in 10 years), D.R.I. (first show in Canada in 20 years), Cannibal Corpse, Korpiklaani, Ludwig Von 88, Despised Icon, Corrosion Of Conformity, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless and Poison The Well (reunion show).
Amnesia Rockfest will happen on June 24-25, 2016 in Montebello, Quebec.

Second of all yeah current Sepultura would easily crush the Cavalera borthers live. Current day Sepultura is live superior to the classic Sepultura line-up from back in the day. Sepultura are better than ever live currently.

But if Roots isn't their best, obviously, I still like it a lot and have no problems with it played fully live. I'd still rather have Chaos A.D. myself, or Arise of course.  (and by Sepultura, not by the Cavalera bros  )

So young and totally runs rings around Igor (even when Igor was at his best) And I am not even going to talk about Max on his guitar. My God, Sepultura with just one guitarist now is guitar technically stronger than Sepultura with two back in the day. Why the hell Max had a guitar around his neck back then is still a mystery to me. How was a terrible guitar player. Loads of times he just 'played' on one string live.

I could never get into Roots. The album they should celebrate is Arise. And I could also never get into any of the new Sepultura albums, I actually find the Soulfly material after Dark Ages quite good, and the Cavalera Conspiracy are also enjoyable.
