Joey Jordison - Announces New Band

Drummer Joey Jordison (Scar The Martyr, ex-Slipknot) has announced a new band. It's called Vimic and a new song has premiered online. You can listen to "Simple Skeletons" below if you are curious about it. Rounded out by Kalen Chase (vocals), Kris Norris (guitar/vocals), Jed Simon (guitar/vocals), Kyle Konkiel (bass/vocals) and Matt Tarach (keyboards), the band is readying the release of their debut LP, Open Your Omen, due out later this year on Roadrunner Records.

Joey Jordison said regarding the new band: "I decided I wanted to start fresh. I did not want to keep rehashing old ideas. If I am going to keep going, I really just wanted to break loose and wipe the slate clean. So I renamed the band, and I got a new singer and a new keyboard player [plus] three other members from the Scar The Martyr lineup. We went down into the basement and started demoing material and everything started clicking."

Probably sounds just like Slipknot. Regardless, will give it a spin when I get home, cause I am a fan of Jed Simon.

Joey Jordison is doing himself a disservice by making music like this. He has serious chops and could do a lot more if he didn't focus on making shitty music

Music was my life, music brought me to life and music is how I will be remembered long after I leave this life. When I die there will be a final waltz in my head that only I can hear.

For me, the song began at 2:08, died at 2:55 and resurrected at 3:48.
