I honestly hope he is just very successful at trolling. I find him hilarious with the language he uses in his reviews and stuff, but I also get why no one wants to be roasted by their peers
Sonata Arctica fanatics rejoice because as of right now you can listen to new tunes from the band! The Ninth Hour, their new opus, is due on October 7th, and the Finnish melodic metal quintet now presents its first single and lyric video "Closer To An Animal". Watch the lyric video to the single here and don't forget to share your impressions of it.
"'Closer to an animal' was a song that our vocalist Tony sent to the studio somewhere around the middle of the sessions with the words: 'This will be the album opener'," keyboarder Henkka Klingenberg remembers. "After checking out the demo, we all just had to agree. I would say that musically this is a 'metal meets 80's' type of song. We wanted this as the first single, since it gives quite a clear picture of what you can expect on the upcoming album, or at least some of it. I'm really looking forward to opening the shows on the next World Tour with this track!"
I'm not too sure why "fans" complain about this... This definitely has more of a "Silence meets Unia" feel than anything - which is not a bad thing in my book, considering the trainwreck Stones Grow Her Name, for example, was. It ain't the best nor anything close to the best Sonata Arctica have ever released, but I wouldn't disqualify the new album nor Sonata as a whole because of this track. Sonata Arctica (and a lot more bands worldwide, mind you), as it is known today, is a band that tends to release the weaker songs of an album as singles.
Also, It pisses me off when I see "fans" saying things like "ok, i guess sonata arctica is dead. we will remember you like you were, may the gods bless your soul" (youtube commentary); this is definitely not a downfall track from any of the things the band has released since 2009's Unia, if not even better in a way. Sure, Pasi's production is questionable, and this is not the high-tempo guitar-masturbation power metal Sonata Arctica was in their Jani era (if you can call it this way), but this isn't a bad snippet from them as a whole, considering they have released much more questionable material in later works.

Because Sonata Arctica didn't die, they just changed their name to Cain's Offering.
Both Cain's Offering (which is a fantastic band, by the way) and Sonata Arctica are well alive, and are professional bands at their own genre. It is a known fact Sonata Arctica haven't been what Cain's Offering are today for many years. But they're excellent in their current style and genre.
