Black Sabbath - To Release 'Paranoid' Deluxe Edition
As the legendary Black Sabbath near the conclusion of their triumphant final tour, the band releases their influential classic, Paranoid: super deluxe edition, out on November 11th. Including the 2012 remaster of the original album, in addition to a rare 1974 quad mix of the album in stereo, this edition also features the official debut of two concerts from 1970, from Montreux and Brussels.
The four-disc set comes with a hardbound book, including extensive liner notes featuring new interviews with all four band members, rare photos, and memorabilia, a poster, as well as a replica of the tour book sold during the Paranoid tour.

Written by Irritable Ted on 21.09.2016 at 16:22 It's probably the earliest form of surround sound, with four speakers (two in the front, two behind). Quad mixes were all the rage for a while in the '70s with mixed results. Paranoid must have received that treatment as well so I find it strange that you'd downmix it to stereo and sell it. It would only make sense if the quad mix was done from scratch in which case the sound would be radically different to the stereo version.
