It's actually not that bad. If this isn't the best song on the album, the album might be a 6, hell even possibly 7/10 release if we're lucky. It's perhaps slightly sad to think that would be a success for Metallica, but it would be nice to just hear new music from them that is actually vaguely satisfying. At least the drum sound isn't as abysmal on this song compared to the travesty of the last song

I imagine this song will get played to death on most US hard rock/heavy metal radio stations and put butts in the venue for their next tour. As such, it's a complete success for them. Not bad as an excuse to tour as something other than a nostalgia act.

Low on my priorities for new releases, but they don't need me.

Not good. Totally unmemorable. And it sounds as if it's copy paste of parts from MoP and And Justice. All sounding very disjointed. ABsolute low point, as was to be expected. Lars' terrible drumming. He has trouble keeping up pace with the rest of the band.

I kinda liked it until the chorus. Ruined it for me. I've always like Metallica. All album are either good or great (except St Anger) but im not sure about this one yet. Hate the video btw. what a waste of time. Boring as hell. plus Lars grin is getting more and more annoying. Really wanna punch him now .

Is that the real cover? It is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen.

Yes it is. Probably a rip-off of this already awful crowbar cover.

What a time to be alive: Metallica covering trivium

Technically, Trivium have always covered Metallica. So if now Metallica, as you say, covers Trivium, they are actually covering themselves. Ergo, they play their own music

Metallica is such an issue, no matter what they do a lot of people will praise them and a lot of people will hate them.

For me they are the perfect example of being as great as you want to be, in your own terms. Metallica is one of the greatest band in the history of the music (not talking only about rock), they will leave a footstep in the history of the world and nobody can deny that.

Particulary this song sounds pretty good, better than Hardwired To Self Destruct, that one felt generic this one has a very good structure and the guitar solo sounds very good.
Well done Metallica, it is amazing to see this kind of music after being playing for 35 years...
