Morbid Angel - Recruit New Drummer, In The Studio

While former Morbid Angel members David Vincent (vocals, bass) and Tim Yeung (drums) will join forces to perform classic Morbid Angel songs under the I Am Morbid banner, Morbid Angel are currently in the studio working on their new album. Guitarist Trey Azagthoth recently updated on the recording process and announced that the band has enlisted a drummer: Scott Fuller from brutal death metallers Annihilated and Abysmal Dawn.

Scott Fuller recorded the drum parts for the new album but no word yet on whether he will actually join the band permanently.

Guitarist Trey Azagthoth posted on his Facebook page: "Happy New Year Everyone! It's gonna be a good one. We have all the drums recorded for the new record, performed by Scott Fuller from Annihilated, and will soon start on the guitars, vocals and bass. It has been awesome working with Erik Rutan and Mana Studios. We have a really cool collection of new material. There are also lots of touring plans for this new year so we hope to see you all on the road!"

2017 festival appearances:

Sat, Aug 12 - Party San Open Air

And I see the blade fall down upon the head of lord in heaven
And Darkness falls upon the end of history
While I drink the milk of the Black Goddess and cry over the mankind

Hopefully new blood means it won't suck. I hope they keep experimenting, just in a way that isn't a complete failure--industrial death metal could've been cool, but their last attempt was miserable.

In one of the interviews, Steve Tucker has said something about the new upcoming Morbid Angel album,

I've said it before I'm a death metal guy, so, for me, it's gonna be a death metal album; if I'm on it, it's death metal. So it was just about making a Morbid Angel album. It was really about coming in with something new, something fresh, but yet it still being Morbid Angel.
