Bethlehem - Rainer Landferman Returns To The Band
In an unexpected turn of events, the masters of depression Bethlehem have announced that one old member has returned to the band, posting a picture of him. The band later confirmed in the comments that it was Rainer Landferman, Dictius Te Necare's vocalist.
Landferman's only performance with Bethlehem has become legendary and has been highly influential for the depressive suicidal black metal sub-genre. Many tried to imitate his style, a popular case being Natti Natti Nattramn, Silencer's ex-vocalist (who's also preparing a return to the scene).
Rainer Landferman was also a bassist and provided backing vocals in the cult technical death metal band Pavor. His last contribution to metal in general dates back to 2011 when he was a session vocalist for the sixth track of Anaal Nathrakh's album, Passion.
Onielar's future is still unclear.

Just for the record: that guy on the photo is not Rainer Landfermann but Florian "Torturer" Klein, the drummer. They don't even look similar and Rainer Landfermann has never rejoined Bethlehem. We've all just been taken on a ride by social media's clown Jürgen Bartsch. Strange band - strange sense of humour.

Written by Maco on 16.03.2019 at 03:07 Me, too - but you helped to set things straight.  The funny thing is that I've seen Rainer Landfermann countless times, we went to the same clubs in the 90's. Stumbling upon this picture now I couldn't believe my eyes, that's just not him.

Written by Maco on 16.03.2019 at 04:02 I am continually surprised reading 'Pavor' anywhere. For a number of their early years, Pavor has more or less just been a random outfit and there have been many bands right out of their neighbourship (Derb, Rustikahl, Endart, Gorge, etc.) rightfully gaining more (local) recognition in shorter time. Now - 25 years later - even people from overseas obviously know Pavor, whereas most of the other DM bands of the same time and local origin are absolutely unknown and not even listed on MA. That really is a great mystery to me. Anyway, I still own Pavor's s/t 1993 EP on original tape, so maybe I'll just wait for another period of 25 years to sell it. Then I will be the richest and most famous grandpa of the former Pavor neighbourhood and laughing my ass off.
