Textures - Announce Breakup And Farewell Tour

Sad news for the fans of math metallers Textures. The Dutch band has announced a break up in a statement, explaining that the reasons behind the split are mostly personal and the decision has been well thought out.

"There is no easy way to say this, so here it is: Textures comes to an end. Personal motives have led to this decision and it has not been made in haste. These personal reasons made it harder to be the productive band Textures always has been in the past and which this band needs to be. Without this dedication Textures would merely be a shell of what it used to be," reads the statement. Moreover, the band's sixth studio album, Genotype, will not be released.

Textures members assure that there are no hard feelings between them: "We still have a strong connection with current and former members and this decision won't lead to any tensions whatsoever. Furthermore the individual bandmembers will continue to make music and pursue new musical endeavours."

On this occasion, the Dutch group has also announced a farewell European tour. You can check out the dates below.

Damn. And to think I missed their only concert in Israel a couple of years ago.
Hope they will continue to work on similar projects in the foreseeable future.

I got to know them last year on an Amorphis concert and they blew me away with their performance, sad to hear of their break up. I was looking forward to the new album.

Damn, one of my favorite and most interesting technical bands out there. :'( Will definitely be on the lookout of the projects of the members, especially the lead guitarist and the drummer who are just mindblowing.
