Ne Obliviscaris - Detail New Album, Stream New Song

Aussies Ne Obliviscaris just shared a brand new track! And that's not all. The extreme progressive metal group also revealed all the details regarding their new and anticipated album. Titled Urn, it shall be released on October 27th via Season of Mist and the cover as well as tracklist were unveiled. The first tune they are showcasing is called "Intra Venus" with a video to go with it. Hear it below and tell us what you think about it.

Frontman Tim Charles comments on behalf of the band: "After almost three years of honing our craft in every way that we possibly could, we finally present to you the first track from an album of which we could not be more proud of. Urn feels like the culmination of all our years of hard work; the delivery of everything that we have wanted to create. Music and art as our imaginations see it fit to be. 'Intra Venus' is more concise than much of our work and is in fact the only song on Urn under ten minutes, but one that we feel is a great introduction to the record. We hope that you will enjoy it."

Tracks:

01. Libera (Part I) - Saturnine Spheres
02. Libera (Part II) - Ascent Of Burning Moths
03. Intra Venus
04. Eyrie
05. Urn (Part I) - And Within The Void We Are Breathless
06. Urn (Part II) - As Embers Dance In Our Eyes

They didn't announce who the guest bass player is yet, right? He did an amazing job, that fretless sounds great. I bet it's Sean Malone, JPT or one of those well-known guys.

I love this band and can't wait to hear more. And I like the artwork, but maybe I'm just overly partial to boobies.

Robin Zielhorst. He also wrote all the bass according to the band.

When I heard the intro part, I thought the bass player was Dominic Forest

This song sounds much more straight forward than their last effort Citadel which I did not like much. I have high hopes for this album now

Ohhh nice! I figured it was a big name. Their new bass player will be up for some quite hard tasks.

Haha, I was surprised that Ne Obliviscaris went so earthy and comical as to name an album Um. And then I realized I was misreading.

The band aswered questions about him on both Facebook and Youtube.

EDIT: Though Cygnus has now chimed in on Youtube and disputed the claim Robin re-wrote his parts on one track. Interesting.

Pretty close though, he did some time in Cynic and also was in Exivious.

The new bassist sounds great, got me hyped for this record. If this reaches the freshness and uniqueness of 'The Portal Of I', then it's got my attention.

Good song but it didn't need the clean vocals.

That opposition between the cleans and harsh vocals are like a staple of the band. I actually think his cleans have improved a bit between this and their last release.
