Joe Satriani - Debut Track From New Album

Joe Satriani has some "Energy" to share. The legendary guitarist is about to release a new album called What Happens Next. For this 16th solo album, Satriani worked with Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Country Communion) on bass and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on drums, who recorded the album with him. Check out the album details below as well as the new song in full.

Satriani once again teams up with producer/engineer/mixer Mike Fraser on What Happens Next. Fraser has recorded and mixed every AC/DC album since 1990's The Razors Edge and has been a frequent collaborator with Satriani since the release of Crystal Planet in 1998, producing, engineering or mixing Satriani's solo albums as well as both studio projects by Chickenfoot.

For the album, Satriani says that he wanted to write songs "About a human being, two feet on the ground, heart pumping, with emotions, dreams, and hopes. That seemed to be the direction I really was yearning for."

The 2018 iteration of his G3 Tour will feature Dream Theater's John Petrucci and Def Leppard's Phil Collen.

In addition to this new album and tour news, a new documentary "Beyond The Supernova" shot by Satriani's filmmaker son, ZZ, makes its debut at the Mill Valley Film Festival this October. The tour documentary chronicles Joe, along with his band and crew, on their last Shockwave Supernova tour throughout Europe and Asia.
