Moonspell - Release New Song And Lyric Video

The Portuguese metallers Moonspell have chosen today (Friday the 13th) to share their brand new song and video. The song is called "Evento" (The Event) and will appear on the upcoming album, 1755, sung entirely in Portuguese and the musical chronicling of the 1755 earthquake that struck Lisbon, Portugal. Feast your eyes and ears below. The English translation is available in the video description.

A foreword from frontman Fernando Ribeiro: "'Bury the dead. Take care of the living' is one of the most famous quote of Marquis of Pombal (Sebastião José Carvalho e Melo), the minister of the King who together with the crowds of Lisbon and his engineers rebuilt a new Lisbon from the ashes and ruins of the old in just one year time. Event talks about fate, a dialogue built between the narration of the day and the state of mind of Lisbon's inhabitants and the all powerful choir telling me to be still and accept God's will. This conflict and the desacralisation of Lisbon is one of the most interesting aspects of this accursed day. A fight that allowed Portugal to step out finally from the Middle Ages and make the country's entry into Enlightenment."

The first song released from 1755 can still be heard over here.

blablabla ! I could speak French as well but this place being an international comminuty, I think it is a show of respect to write using a language that most people can understand. Thank you.

Google Translate, no problem:

Congratulations Moonspell for such a strong and beautiful song. I had my doubts about singing in Portuguese ... but it was so good that it will inspire other bands to sing in Portuguese. Besides the Dead Hand are the only ones that look good in Portuguese (bizarre ones but more limited by the repetitive style).
God so wanted the end of Sodom and Gomorrah ...

I was once banned from such forum for posting one message in French among English messages... Maybe it was too harsh but I see the point behind this.

As for the song itself, maybe it sounds like good old Moonspell but the only album from Moonspell that I like is EXTINCT and so far I haven't enjoyed their news songs
