Old Man Gloom/Cave In - Bassist Caleb Scofield Dies

Old Man Gloom just lost their bassist/vocalist Caleb Scofield. Notably, he was also the bassist in Cave In. Unfortunately, Caleb Scofield was in a severe truck crash on March 28th and passed away. R.I.P.

Old Man Gloom released this statement: "We'd like to thank everyone for the kind words coming in. We will have countless words to say, and endless stories to tell in the future, but today we are just trying to keep it together. All I ask is that if Caleb has ever brought you a moment of joy, please follow this link and support his family."

Cave In also added: "We are shocked and devastated by the passing of Caleb Scofield. He was one of a kind, our best friend and an unfathomable world of inspiration. Thank you for your support, and for understanding how difficult this is for us. Please donate to his family:."

Profound Lore Records also posted their condolences: "Saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Caleb Scofield. Really great guy and it was awesome working with him on those last two Old Man Gloom albums we released (and to think I'm still tripping out that I even got to release two Old Man Gloom albums). Releasing those two Old Man Gloom LPs, in turn, kinda gave Profound Lore that connection to Cave In who were one of the most groundbreaking and moving bands in heavy music of the late '90s. Those Cave In albums, damn did they ever hit me hard. Please consider this fundraiser."
