Soen - Introduce New Guitarist, New Album Update
Soen have shared two important updates recently. The bad news is that guitarist Marcus Jidell (Avatarium) has left the band. He will be replaced by Canadian born Cody Ford full time. Cody Ford has already played a few shows with the band and recorded the guitars and leads on their upcoming album. That's the good news. Their new album is currently being mixed! The band promises to release the follow-up to Lykaia soon.
The band posted this message: "We are happy to announce that the Canadian born Cody Ford will be joining Soen full time. He already played a few shows with us and recorded the guitars and outstanding leads to our upcoming album. He's replacing Marcus Jidell as the lead guitarist. We wish Marcus good luck with his other projects and thank him for his work with us the last couple of years!
"With that said... Our new album is currently being mixed, we are really excited about this and cannot wait for you to hear it....and very, very soon you will."

Wow, a new album so soon! Great. Looking forward to hear it.  Too bad about the guitarist, but stoked to hear the replacement do some sweet licks.

I was happy to attend Soen's first (ever) North American show here in Ottawa, Canada. This is also where Cody is from. I never heard of him until that night thought I must admit he pulled off lead guitar perfectly. He also seemed to gel very well with the rest of the band. So yes, it sucks that Marcus departed, however it seems they've another ace up their sleeve. Good things to come.
