Epica - Reject Rumours About Vocalist Joining Nightwish
Online "news" sources have been spreading rumours that Epica vocalist Simone Simons has been in talks with Nightwish about joining the band. Epica has addressed the issue via their official website with the following statement:
"The last few months there have been a lot of rumours about Simone, implying she would leave Epica to join Nightwish as their new vocalist. With this rumour being published in a Finnish celebrity gossip magazine we are again getting a lot of questions whether or not this is true, so once again: Simone is not in contact with Nightwish nor their management and will not be leaving Epica. Don't believe everything you read, specially not in gossip magazines.
Oh and by the way, we are still looking for a new drummer. For more info contact info@epica.nl."
BW&BK can confirm that Epica's statement is not a whitewash, as they recently met up with backing vocalist Amanda Somerville, who began working on pre-production for the next Epica album at the beginning of the month at Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany. According to Somerville work on the album is due to continue in January.

Simone Simons was a good vocalist to Nightwish, but from the universe of metal i prefer Floor Jansen from After Forever!!! Best Regards from Portugal: Gothic Crow

I doubt Sabine will leave Edenbridge, and I don't know much about Leaves' Eyes. Anyway, isn't it more likely that, rather than headhunting a vocalist from another band, they'll go for an unknown? Tarja was, after all!

Slava Popova from Operatika would be the best option for Nightwish. Also Martina Astner (from Alas, and also did some vocals for Therion) would do a great job in Nightwish. Amanda Somerville is a good option too.

Written by Guest on 19.11.2006 at 00:30 Nightwish would only be dead IF Tuomas leaves the band..it's true Tarja has a great voice and complements Nightwish, but Tuomas is the head of the band... so they're far from dead. Anyways, I don't think Simone would be good for Nightwish.. she belongs to Epica, as Liv belongs to Leaves' Eyes.. I believe it's really hard to find a good replacement for them.. but I trust 'em for the job to the end! BTW, can't wait to hear more about the upcoming Epica album!

simmone from epica? liv from leaves'eyes? common! if they do pull them from their bands, and shove em in nightwish, where is the 'unique-ness' to the sound? if they really DO want to grab someone from some other band, i would say Melissa from Visons of Atlantis(she used to be with Aesma Daeva. this isnt the old crappy/weak vocalist VOA used to have. shes new to the band. still working on an album with em.)
