After moving back to Iceland in 2017, Fortíð mastermind Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson worked on distance with the rest of the band for as long as possible. However, now they've mutually decided to part ways, leaving Einar and drummer Kristján Einar Guðmundsson (performed on the group's debut record) as the only members for now.

Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson says: "It's time to announce a major lineup change in Fortíð. I moved back to Iceland in 2017 and it has been mutually decided between all of us to disband. Working between countries is not a very inspiring process in the long run. It is however possible and we did for a while. So we can say goodbye to this lineup in a proper way with one more release. Our best one so far in my opinion!

"I want to thank my brothers, Dan, Øystein and Rikard for hanging in there with me for 10 years. I wish them only the best in everything they do. We had some amazing times together and there are more to come I'm sure, even though we are musically separated.
