Finnish metallers Mors Principium Est have issued the following update:

"Our guitarist and main songwriter Jori (Haukio) decided to leave the band after seven years and three albums. He felt that MPE was not his thing anymore. We wish him all the best!
Our friend Karri Kuisma will be our session guitarist from now on."

As previously reported, Mors Principium Est's new album, Liberation = Termination, is due out in early 2007 via Listenable Records.

Too bad, he was the main songwriter, so it will be hard for the band!
I hope they will create masterpieces again in the future anyway, as the Unborn!

This is a tragedy. He is a genius to say the least!

I'm so upset by this. Mors Principium Est is an amazing band, and I can only hope that they are able to produce as equally good music as before... but to lose such a central member. I'm not going to lie, it worries me. Only time will tell.:(
