Cipher System - Announce Collaboration With Black Lion Records

Swedish melodic death metallers Cipher System and Black Lion Records have signed a new record deal. After years of silence it was time unreveal the new chapter that had become the new Cipher System 3.0. Christian Älvestam (Scar Symmetry, Solution .45) joined the ranks as the new frontman along with session drummer Janne Jaloma (Dark Funeral, Evocation, Night Crowned), the band will release their new upcoming EP in 2021.

Cipher System are:

Christian Älvestam - Vocals
Johan Eskilsson - Guitars
Henric Liljesand - Bass
Janne Jaloma - Drums (session)

Full statement from the band: With a new line-up new music is being crafted and recorded as we speak. We want to release this as soon as possible, as we tend to keep our fans waiting after every release a bit too long. The number 8 seem to be a number of importance. From that the band formed it took us 8 years to release our first album Central Tunnel 8. Then it took us 8 years to release a follow up. Now here we are in 2020, 8 years after the release of Communicate The Storms with a new release.

"This time we teamed up with both Black Lion Records and Noble Demon records for the release, and We could not be in better hands!

"We are also very excited to have Christian Älvestam (Official) onboard, and We hope you are too. So the first release that will come out is an EP with 4 songs.

"As most of you know, the music business is not what it used to be. So even though the labels are helping us out, it won't cover all. So if you want to support us in doing as much as possible with this release we have opened up a merch shop.

"So if you want to support us this is the way. You can buy T-Shirts/CD's or "your name in the booklet". If We get enough money to make a music video, We will include your name in the music video as well. More info about release date, artwork, tracklist, pre-order etc of the coming EP will follow. Stay Dark!"

Imo, their last album was great, but the vocals killed it for me. And it was a bit overproduced.

I wonder if it will take them 8 years after this statement to actually release an album. Shame cause I got excited when I read it back then..
