I'm pretty ashamed to have done it, but where I live every single day is a fool's one. Besides that, you couldn't have got me in a worse moment, as I've got COVID and still can't think straight, that being the reason why I deleted my account right away after the joke. I'm unemployed and can't afford any expenses beyond those to my survival. I don't know where you're from, but things here in Brazil are beyond any sense of horrible. Is there any way I can recover my deleted account? There was so much information on it, I don't want to lose it

I wouldn't mind donating to MS, as an act of gratitude because I love the site, but as you guys probably know, our currency is worth shit, so I can't donate any significant amount. A 50 euros donation would cost a third of our minimum wage.

Unfortunately deleted is deleted, amigo. Understand the situation in Brazil as Parana (at least Curitiba) might as well be a giant prison now. Fuck MetalStorm, hope you just beat the fucking horrible strain that is killing left and right down here. PM me where you are at, if I'm ever in the barrio, o jantar e as cervejas are on me. Can't do much more, but when this shit clears want to see more of your awesome country. And ask Mr. Doctor, el Chileno, I will do Marcel proud and try to murder you with beer.

Thanks for your consideration, bud. I'm both devastated for being so sick and to act so stupid, but this terrible virus almost got me, as I suffered a short arrest due to lack of air, 2 days ago. I'm much better now. I used to be a lawyer and a teacher of English language, now I'm fighting this devilish government, asking for help to survive since it's been almost 2 years of no paychecks and I have my social security rights denied. I know things are hard for everyone, practically everywhere, and since I've been dealing with a lot of free services becoming paid ones because of the pandemic, I thought it was the case of Metal Storm while my mind was too fucked up to even think of April Fool's, because it's not a tradition here. But life goes on. And about the beer challenge: no doubt! I'm a terribly good opponent hahaha! Whenever you can do it! Take care, bud 😎🤘🏼

Good thing it was a joke, that premium subscription notice was kind of annoying.

Those of you who didn't fill in your details missed the whole joke really. The premium membership "news" was only the lure, the actual joke was after you proceeded with the subscription. Unfortunately, many people decided not to proceed, even though we added a notice that there would be no credit card fees yet.
For those who missed it, if you clicked on the green button after the pop-up banner appeared, you got a form to fill in your details. Only whatever you typed didn't matter since the name, address, and city would be filled by details we had already loaded (for example -depending on the gender you chose- names like Papa Emeritus, Chris Barnes, Shagrath, Floor Jansen, Alissa White-Gluz etc. for addresses we had Stairway to Heaven 1, Manilla Road, Route 666, 22 Acacia Avenue etc. and for towns we had At the Gates, Minas Morgul, Cirith Ungol, Falls Of Rauros etc.). After you filled in your details, the next step took you to a new popup where we admitted that the whole thing was an April Fools joke but there was also one last thing. You had to watch the . And there was no way to bypass it, there were no controls on the video so you couldn't adjust the volume or skip and go straight to the end of it; you just had to watch the whole thing and only when that video ended you could go back to the website and browse normally without any popup appearing ever again. If you closed the tab and didn't watch the video, the popup appeared again from the beginning whenever you visited Metal Storm. The only page that was always accessible was the one of the news post.
I think the people who went all the way really enjoyed it. It's a pity that many of you were not brave enough. We had to watch "Gimme Chocolate" ourselves way too many times while testing the whole thing and that kind of self-sacrifice on our part deserved at least everyone suffering the same torture.
Finally, we noticed from the comments on the initial news post that some of you who went through with the whole procedure left hints in their comments but were careful enough to not give away the joke. Thank you for that.
