Crypta - Debut Album Detailed, Premiere First Single

Brazil-based all-female death metal formation Crypta have disclosed details for their debut studio album, Echoes Of The Soul. Set for release on June 11th, 2021 via Napalm Records, it's comprised of 10 new tracks. The album's closing one, ''From The Ashes'', is available for streaming with accompanying official video. Directed by Andre Gustavo.

Echoes Of The Soul was recorded in January 2021 at the Family Mob Studio (Brazil), mixed by Arthur Rizk and mastered by the Jens Bogren. The cover artwork was created by Wes Benscoter,

Singer and bassist Fernanda Lira says about the first single: "The song is basically about the well-known tale of the phoenix, but in a more philosophical sense. It talks about the ever-changing cycles of life, about the many endings and beginnings we have to go through, about how many old versions of ourselves need to figuratively die in order for us to keep growing and evolving as human beings, and finally, about building resilience to endure all these rebirths."

This is really good. You can still hear Nervosa in the song but this is death metal with thrash influences rather than the other way around. I agree with Bad English, it got some Scandinavian touch to it and I guess that's thanks to Jens Bogren's mastering. Looking forward to the full album.
