Orphaned Land - Finally Recording The New Album

The band posted this piece of news on their myspace blog:

"Israel's progressive folk metal masters Orphaned Land are currently recording the highly anticipated follow-up to 2004's "Mabool", and vocalist Kobi Farhi states:

"Hello there to all the Orphaned warriors of light - we are very happy that we finally entered the studio to deliver you the long awaited concept album - "ORwarriOR"! The album is going to be more than 70 minutes long and as usual many traditional instruments and languages will be involved in the process. In my opinion this is the best Orphaned Land album ever! We can't wait for you to put your hands on it and we look forward to tour and meet you all on the road! Your Orphaned brother - Kobi."

"ORwarriOr" will be mixed by legendary producer Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, Opeth) and he comments as follows:

"Finally! I am very happy and look forward to mix Orphaned Land's new album, I'm sure this will be one of the greatest and most original albums in the metal scene!"

The album is expected to surface on Century Media Records in early autumn 2009"

They've recorded most of the instruments, and clean vocal parts also. That's what they say on their forum, and the album will be out in autumn. Damn, I cant wait!

Can't wait for that... This band takes too long a time to release an album but the result always turns up extraordinary. I hope they initiate a tour in support of it and come to London next year.

If some of these albums coming up from several excellent bands are as good as their previous work (i.e. Not like Pestilence's), then 2009 will be an overall awesome year for metal releases.

Yeah that Pestilence release was bullshit, completely generic.
At least Orphaned Land haven't taken THAT long to make a new album, so their sound shouldn't have changed too much

That's true. That and the fact that Orphaned Land is a rare example of a band whose output has increased as it went along. And it sure helps that they didn't (arguably) peak 20 years ago like Pestilence did

My comment still stands though, loads of really bands seem to be either confirming upcoming albums or have already made good 09 albums. (For example I reckon Warbringer probably won around loads of sceptical thrashers with their 2009 release, it's FAR less hyped this time around too.)

That's ridiculous. I submitted this news just when it appeared but it was rejected as it wasn't even considered news by the staff member.

P.S. Well, I guess it wasn't Momo.

something like this happened about my news about samael's last album but my news never released by anybody else. this kind of reject without reason sometimes really stop members from solidarity.

well, what one staff member didn't consider to be news was considered news by another staff member. Well, I didn't get pissed or anything; it was just a misunderstanding I guess.
