as for Varg's bullshit take on the book itself - it doesn't "tell the truth" about him because none of his own versions of the truth have remained consistent. dude has altered his story sooooo many times even he (and his delusional fanboi squad) no longer have a clue what happened.
I've already told it on this board: Varg changed his mind so many times and contradicted himself so often and on so many subjects, you can't trust anything this schizo says and have said. Only the deluded 'tr00 kvlt' kids still believe he can have any credibility left. Like those Anusites who dream to suck his cock.

Also, Varg Vikernes recently got released from prison. I leared it from Blabbermouth. That was the same news bulletin where I heard about this movie. I am not sure as to how truthful it is, but I do not have a clenched mind toward it. I wouldn't have a clenched mind to the book either, although I wouldn't immediately take it in as the truth.

Im gonna place a bet on there being a cheesy (non-factual) fight scene between varg and Euro (who willed be played by Elijah Wood? )
Black metal will then become the next pop sensation and soon every fucking My Chemical Romance loser will think their Klvt as fuck because they think they know black metal.
They will also pronounce his name as 'Vearg Vickernees"
Man, it would be terrible if that happened. This sort of music certainly was not made for the masses, and, if heard by the wrong people, will be talked about all over by the pop news and all over the media. This movie might summon that attention, much to the displeasure of the original fans of this music. If this happens, then that would virtually be the apocaliypse of traditional black metal as we know it. I hate to say it, but I believe this to be true. Fortunately, though, there will always be those bands that will remain underground no matter what. At least we can dwell on that.

That sounds like a great idea. And while they're at it, why not make a line of clothing for Hot Topic that says "Kiss Me I'm Black Metal", "I'm not a Princess, I'm a Burzum Vampire Queen" or "I <3 Varg Vikernes"

I think the worst thing - even worse than the choice of actor to play Varg - is that "the movie will be in the genre of psychedelic horror."
Why not make a straight-up documentary? Sam Dunne and Anvil have proven that a legitimate documentary about metal can be a success, so why turn this into a horror film? The book itself is reference / non-fiction material, so what does this approach add?
Don't get me wrong - I love black metal and I love horror films - but if I really wanted to see a "psychedelic horror" black metal movie, I would just watch Dani Filth's horrible, horrible, horrible Cradle of Fear again.
I fully understand and appreciate the fact that the lyrical content and image of most black metal lends itself to horror, but the music (and presentation of, whether in press photos, websites, videos) is the medium these artists have chosen and I think the people behind this film should respect that.
IMO, shooting in this style can only serve to make a mockery of the scene and the subject matter. If you're at all familiar with j-horror, just try to imagine how they will portray church burning, Dead's suicide, brain stew, skull fragment necklaces, Euronymous' murder, Bard's murder (not his, but the one he commited) ... people viewing this movie are going to treat it like any other run-of-the-mill horror film and never fully understand / comprehend the gravity of the events that took place.
Also, as a side note, it seems like this is going to focus almost exclusively on Varg and Norway. I've always felt that the book was more about the whole satanic element of the BM scene, with Norway only receiving so much focus due to the images of the bands of that time and all the related crime.

Ffs just because the guy is in Twilight doesn't mean he's gay or a necessarily shit actor or anything. He's an ACTOR, not the #1 Twilight fan or its author or anything.
As I've already said, this will be a fun movie. It's not meant to be a hardcore non-fiction documentary (the book doesn't even qualify for this), so stop fucking treating it as such.

Well only if he looks cute enough.
I personally would love to watch the movie and not because of actors but the story.

My money is on it sucking ass and coming out all wrong and fucked up though.
I'm a little interested in seeing who's side they are going to take though, if Euro is going to be portrayed like a greedy ass faggot who deserves to die or if he's gonna be prtrayed as a black metal martyr who became victim to an internal power struggle.

Seriously, if Euro's death killed Black Metal spirit because the media sodomized the genre after that, then this movie is going to burn BM's corpse, and then nuke the ashes.

Well, this movie disappeared off the radar...
Frankly, I would like to see a movie (not a documentary) based on the events surrounding black metal's origins, the inner circle, and the murder of Euronymous - all shown in an honest, artistic light, a perspective that Lords of Chaos would have failed to grasp. My idyllic black metal film would be both exciting and informative, showing how Euronymous and Varg went from band mates to opposing forces. One can only dream, though.
Still, I'm glad Lords of Chaos disappeared off the radar. It sounded like a project that would have been downright horrendous, with a Twilight actor playing Varg and the genre choice of "psychedelic horror".
