I'm all for great metal bands touring with shitty metal bands that are popular (despite their obvious lack of talent) because it exposes kids to better metal.
DragonForce is WAY more popular in the US with all the kids. That's the reason they're headlining.

| Yeah, it did somewhat surprise me that Sonata Arctica is opening for DragonForce. But I guess it makes sense that it is arranged that way. In my honest opinion, music wise, Sonata Arctica is better than DragonForce. That's just my thoughts though. |

| I went to see Cynic this year opening for DragonForce (which I have never heard before), and I stayed to see DF to see what they were about. On stage did did nothing else thatn do stupid jokes about fucking themselves and farting and all that crap, and they jumped all the time as if they had taken something. Even though the soloing sounded good, I can't explain how they played all that live while jumping. |

1) massive tour featuring Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax and they are only playing their best material from the 80's.
2) jobs are created for the tour = increase in employment rate
3) ppl all over American going crazy
4) ppl all over the world go crazy too and flood to America to watch those shows
5) great for the tourism industry
6) Americans themselves also go to these gigs in masses
7) after gig = go out to bars and drink or go party (benefiting local economy, then you get the multiplier effect and blah blah blah)
8) increase in consumer spending
9) GDP increase because of that
10) current account more positive as well probably
11) i.e. perfect stimulus package  |
