| I'm a little torn between wanting to hear this and avoiding it. Only their latest album Hope managed to get close to the hype this band is getting and I'm glad I still gave them that chance. They finally seemed to gather their ideas together in a coherent package in 2007 so it's quite probable my optimism allows me to try New Moon as well. Also there's a part of me that wants to feel proud of this successful local band so that's an extra urge for me to keep an ear on what they're doing for the world to hear. |

| Interesting that the album is titled the same as the big Hollywood movie that just happens to be coming out in Nov 2009. Maybe they are hoping that people will be searching online for "New Moon" merchandise and accidentally buy this album as a result. |

They might benefit from it! But they settled on the title a while back, and to be honest its a pretty common phrase. Hard to get the perfectly Google-able album title these days!
The album cover is seriously good, I do like these etching-styled things everyone has been doing since Haggard did it! The music sounds like a slower Insomnium with vocals more like Tiamat, so developing their style a bit. Thats a good thing as Hope was a bit lacklustre in the creativity dept. Look forward to hearing it muchly. |
