My Dying Bride - New EP On The Way

UK metallers My Dying Bride have issued the short following update on their official website:

"My Dying Bride have been busy in the Future Works studio, recording material for a new EP release, titled "Bring Me Victory". Two covers, one of the traditional "Scarborough Fair" and a cover of "Failure" by the Swans, will be part of this new EP. A new video has been completed as well to support the release.

An October release date has been pencilled in but this may be put back a little depending on how the last days of recording go!

More as we get it."

Bring Me Victory strange title for My Dying Bride

Maybe they're changing their style into Viking Black.

I am a bit apprehensive about My Dying Bride covering Scarborourgh Fair though cause Queensryche already covered it magnificently years and years ago.

Thanks for letting me know, Marcel (and thanks, youtube)
magnificently covered indeed
though I would imagine My Dying Bride would do a calmer version of it?

Let's hope they can redeem themselves after releasing one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

Ive listened to Failure now its a nice song. MDB do nice covers. for example their cover of "Roads" is very nice which is song by "Portishead".

Hmm, this seems interesting, since I have high respect for My Dying Bride. And I didn't know that My Dying Bride's most recent album had such negative feedback. That is not what I expected. I've heard two songs on For Lies I Sire, and I thought they were great songs. I am willing to bet that the song Bring Me Victory will be on this EP as well. I have also heard Queensrÿche's version of Scarborough Fair, and it was excellent.

I have no arms..
The thought of catching swine flu thrills me more than this. IMO everything they've released since The Dreadful Hours has just gone downhill and is now just boring and been done to death.

Yes, this sounds interesting to me (i've no idea about these songs & their lyrics-i'll check 'em!) BUT come on My Dying Bride! They have fallen too much, to a daark side?! Next efforts-albums should be more "light-relieving" for the listener-not so doowwn! Strange mood eh?
