I found this band recently and I think they are amazing! I know there are few people here who like them, so I think there should be a topic about them in the new forum Anyway... which Freak Kitchen album is the best? I picked Spanking Hour because it reminds me of Faith No More sometimes... what do you think?

"Freak Kitchen is a small, swedish "metal"-band, with satiric lyrics about things they dislike. It's mostly heavy music, but not simply metal, since their music is so widely influenced by other styles. Just refer to one of the album descriptions (Freak Kitchen, 1998) from the band's website:

"A corny little heavy-pop-rock-latin-world-jazz-avant-garde-metal-blues-record straight from hell!"

What makes the band remarkable is their amazing guitar hero, MAttias IA Eklundh, which is also the singer and front man."

That's what they say about them on www.last.fm I like them because of funny lyrics... you can listen to them anytime and they will always make you smile. You should really try to get some of their songs!

For me, it's a fuckin' toss-up between Move and Organic. Of course, the rest are bloody brilliant, but these two stand out as gems for me. But, in the end, I guess I'd have to go with Move. My girlfriend(not a member) votes for Organic, by the way.

I voted 'Move'. I'm not sure that was the right choice (hard to choose, dammit!), but we'll see about that tomorrow.

Hard to choose between "Move" and "Organic" but I picked "Move", probably because it's the 1st FK album I heard, the one which made me discover their crazyness and their talent

I guess my pick is quite obvious when you read my mick
I love Dead Soul Men because it's the only FK album that's got no filler tracks on it. Every single song is awesome, my favourites being Silence, Gun God, Dead Soul Men, Everything Is Under Control and I Refuse. I think Freak Kitchen reached their creative peak with this album. Check the vocals, the guitar playing, the songwriting, it's never been that good since then. Not that they've ever let me down, but no album has reached the quality of Dead Soul Men before or after

It's a good album, very different from what they do now. The sound is rather dated and the music really seems to me like it was inspired by the funky hard rock of Extreme (Pornograffitti era) if you see what I mean. There are some awesome tracks such as Blind for example ("You think you're God's gift to mankind... I say you're blind", I just love this line )

I will try to get this song. Anyway... don't you think that Freak Kitchen is very underrated? Nobody knows them... it's a shame!

It is really hard for me to pick a "best" so I had to go with my favorite which is Appetizer. There is just something about the immaturity and innocence captured on this record that strikes a chord with me.
