-fastest drums beaten by a human being(not a machine)
-BASS????!?!!
-triple flat drop A 3 octaves all men play on twelve guitars, below the regular bass level used by a brutal death metal band
-albums that were three times played and re-recorded through an old cassette player buried for a month in a graveyard then splattered with blood from an aborted child
i've heard the bands Disgorge, Mortician and Berzerker are contenders.. what do you people think?

I don't know about you guys, but I think the band Cryptopsy is pretty damn brutal... Their drummer Flo Mounier is like a machine lol, I can't believe at some of the blasts he does, just look at the song Carrionshine for example...

Hey all. I'm new here and I know my opinion doesn't quite meet the original poster's requirements but... Growing up in the 80s I had the opportunity to see the rise and fall of many metal bands. Both the good and bad. I experienced the metal surge and got to see the bands considered godfathers. I would describe BRUTAL by heavy guitar riffage, heavy machine gun drums and bass, heavy but understood vocals and the over all message. Its my opinion that if the band is hard to listen too, they're not brutal, they suck. Being old school (and proud of it) I believe bands like Slayer are truly brutal. Taking a topic that makes the normal person cringe and the extreme person stop and think all the while thrashing to awesome driving metal music is the definition of brutal. Just my opinion.

Holy fucking shit. i found it. Anaal Nathrakh. absolutely impossibly brutal. i know it doesn't fit the profile in my original post, but this is pure ear rape. Necrophagist and old Cannibal Corpse sound like Hannah Montana compared to this. Immolation can get pretty fucking brutal with those crushing riffs and drumming. Along with their awesome singer/bass. Early Cryptopsy and Suffocation are of course brutal as well. To me, you have to be technical but at the same time a mastermind to be truly brutal. Simply wanking your instrument isn't brutal in my humble opinion....Anaal Nathrakh is pretty cool too. You may not consider them brutal, but they're definitely relentless. At least the album I have from them is (I forgot the name, sorry).
