I thought it'd be a nice idea to post your favorite covers. Please, if you can post only one and try to find a picture of it. Also say why you like it. Thank you.

Ok, I couldn't find another way, but this way it shows it. Happy posting.

Death Angels new album cover is awesome. It screams 80's trash but with a lot more polish.

I love all of the Iron Maiden covers. My personal favorite is AC/DC's Highway To Hell.

Original is 50 times better. This one ruins it with silly logo and unnecessary kvlt desaturation.

Naturally Bruce Pennignton's other colourful sci-fi artwork is great.

Yes indeed. The only thing that I like about the album cover is that is has a black background which makes it look like actual space but otherwise the original is insanely better. I was surprised at first how they got such a good idea for artwork as the "bone fragments for space dust" for a demo, but only then found that it was from earlier sci-fi illustrations from Bruce Pennington. Loving his work a lot really.

Shamed they shied away from the original, although I suppose then it would make it look like a stoner or psych-rock album or something.

Yeah more of a problem with the genre really that people are pigeonholing artworks to reflect the expectations/standards of the genre. More experimentation on palette/styles, variation and original artworks should be made and welcomed I guess.

I always like it when a cover doesn't give away the genre, even if some genres often have great artworks in general.

Yeah thats a snazzy cover. Weird thing wikipedia has a page for that album but not the band. Haven't heard the album yet, will have to give a try as their last album A Northern Meadow was nice ambient-ish/soft industrial black metal.

Their self-titled debut is way more challenging if you ask me. Also, do not forget to check out the second disc and especially one of the greatest covers ever made, which is "Sleds" by Blut Aus Nord.

Diablo Blvd - Follow The Deadlights

No offense and do I appreciate your interest but frankly those can be considered generic and uninspired when taken upon with the genre's history. Try checking out the artworks of Travis Smith if you haven't already. Might suit your line of interest genre-wise, he is good with progressive and melodic metal genre artworks.

Yeah you might have a point. I'll edit them out.

I do know Travis Smith, mostly from his work on the Opeth covers.

Nah, not really. They all look stale and boring.

I don't know why but their work follows a monotonous framework of art and craft that by looking over once, you will see a hell lot of familiarity.

Its not a "they", just a guy named Chris Keisling working under that moniker.

There might be a lot of boring covers by him but definitely not these two.
