Seems to be a new post since a long time here 
Just to give you some links (all in french, sorry) about the bill "Distribution and protection of the creation on internet" in our National Assembly, and more particularly about a french deputy who speak about Metal the last month.

The Guy in red is Patrick Roy, a French left-wing deputy and metalhead himself (he even programs a metalfestival in the ciy where he is mayor). Next dude to speak is Frédéric Miterrand, actual minister of culture, somewhat left-wing guy in a right-wing government.

Cool that someone has finally stood up for metal in France. There was a local metal festival in Calais that was banned this summer for reasons that make no sense (fear of violence and unsocial behaviour). I've never known a violent metal manifestation and people generally seem to look out for one another in those places. What bothers me the most are the people who take the lyrics and themes of metal too seriously, the iconography sticks with the aggressive music. Metal without that iconography is like horror without monsters, blood and violence.

Well, after missing the venue of two of my favourite bands due to lack of information, I decided to came back here on MS!
I'm so glad to see some known people again and to read that the major "serious debates" didn't progress AT ALL since 2008, hahaha XD
as you probably know, our national metal defender, the socialist deputy Patrick Roy, is dead, and even if I'm totally anti-socialist, I just payed a tribute in the topic about democracy, if you want to add something...

As for Patrick Roy... you said pretty much every thing in your post in the Democracy topic. I seriously hope his story will make the other members of the parliament think about their silly attitude back during Mr Roy's past interventions. They were just making noise, laughing, trying hard to silence him as if what he was saying was not serious. What a lack of respect... and still he showed them gratitude after he was back a few weeks ago. A good man.
