it's one of his slower and ambient releases.

How would you compare it to Defective Epitaph? I really liked that album, worth the money. And there are also some tracks [like the first two songs] that are really slow and trance-like, at least ofr me lol.
Anyway... so, could you compare it in some way?

No matter what, I still think All Reflections Drained is one of his best releases. I kind of stopped listening to Xasthur for a little while, and then this album came out, and brought me back and reminded me how much I love the atmosphere and how Scott never disappoints me! Xasthur FTW!!

I also stopped listening to Xasthur for a while, I haven't got the new album yet, I take it that its good?

Well I like it, but it depends. Xasthur is a "love or hate" band. I happen to be one of those who enjoy most of his material. I do think this album is awesome though, it's one of his slower and ambient releases.

Cheers dude, I gave it a listen just earlier and I did indeed enjoy it. I like the sorta slower/ambient feel, one of my fav releases from him.

Right quick suggestions. I'm about to start listening to Xashtur. Which album should I start with first?

Take your pick really, 'Telepathic With The Deceased' is my personal favourite but his style doesn't vary very much so whatever one you go for won't be all that different. 'Defective Epitaph' was also rather good, but again more of the same kind of thing. Might wanna avoid 'Subliminal Genocide' though, is a little on the bland side (and annoyingly the only Xasthur album I own)

Right I'll narrow it for you. The only Xasthur song I have now is 'Prison of Mirrors'. And I'm addicted to it. Any suggestions?

Well that's from Subliminal Genocide which is arguably Xasthur's least interesting album =p I really can't stress how little he changes from each album though so you can't really go wrong with Xasthur if you like Malefic's style

Doesn't really matter. Xasthur was never known for being diverse between albums. I prefer 'Telepathic with the Deceased' but 'The Funeral of Being' works just as well.

Can't really go wrong with Subliminal Genocide either. That one contains the best track Malefic ever wrote, "The Prison of Mirrors".

Honestly, that's probably my least favourite Xasthur record. Just seems to go nowhere fast. I think he made up for it a little with Defective Epitaph though.

Huh, I found it one of his best albums. Almost droning sound and nice production. Defective Epitaph is the only one I own atm. Is good but could have been better. I appreacite his effort in having real drums, it's not like the previous sounded bad because of the drum machines... but it just sounded better with real ones. The cello here and there was cool too.

Hhahaha fuck no. I like my Xasthur album, would give it a solid 7,5 if the MS could allow it. I'll just buy Subliminal Genocide someday.
Or maybe I can buy it from you with some... special services.
